FRANCO DI SANTO URGES MADRID TO SIGN AMINE GOUIRI IN THE JANUARY WINDOW

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Amine Gouiri wants to join Real Madrid when the opportunity presents itself. But the 22-year-old OGC Nice striker might move to Stade Rennais to play at a higher level in the 2022/23 season before the reigning La Liga champions approach him for a transfer.

Amine Gouiri has established himself as one of the most promising young strikers in Ligue 1 since joining OGC Nice from Lyon nearly two years ago. DI SANTO WISHES HE WAS PART OF ARGENTINA’S TITLE WINNERS

Following the recent achievement of the Argentina national team to win the COPA America title this year, a lot of current and past players of the Argentina national team have expressed their appreciation to captain Lionel Messi for helping the country get a silverware after several attempts in the past that proved fruitless. However, while all of them have expressed satisfaction after the players of the national team achieved the feat, some of their past players have been wishing that they were a part of the squad that clinched the title earlier this year, with some saying it would have meant the world to them had they been a part of the COPA America title-winning squad this year.

One of those players is Franco di Santo. The former Chelsea star, who currently plays for San Lorenzo at the moment, has not featured for Argentina since 2013 and there’s nothing else to blame but his inconsistencies and frequent battle for form and fitness in his career. After completing a £3.4 million move to English Premier League club Chelsea back in the summer transfer window of 2008,he found his way into the Blues first team following a short spell with the club’s reserve team. DI SANTO: BREMEN CAREER EXAMINED

Franco Di Santo became a Werder Bremen player shortly after he was released by English team Wigan Athletic. Argentine striker Franco Di Santo joined Werder Bremen on a free transfer on August 14, 2013 and he went on to pen a three-year deal with the German Bundesliga side.

Di Santo made his Werder Bremen debut against Borussia Dortmund nine days after signing for the club. He was a substitute during the game which ended in a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Dortmund. He came on as a substitute for Austrian player Marko Arnautovic at the midway point of the second half.

DI SANTO MISSES OUT ON WIN

San Lorenzo striker Franco Di Santo was absent again as his Argentine team finished its 2021 Copa Sudamericana group stage campaign with a big win over Huachipato. Franco Di Santo has now missed the last two games through injury. He was also absent for the 2-0 away victory over 12 de Octubre in the penultimate group match for San Lorenzo in the competition.

Former Wigan Athletic and Werder Bremen player Franco Di Santo didn’t feature for San Lorenzo who ended their Copa Sudamericana campaign with a 3-0 away win over Huachipato in Group A but the win was not enough to overhaul their opponents on the final group standings.

COPA LIBERTADORES: DI SANTO ON TARGET

Argentine striker Franco Di Santo was on target but it was not enough to see his club beyond the third round of the Copa Libertadores. He scored one of the goals for San Lorenzo in a 2-2 draw at the home of Brazilian top flight club Santos.

Santos and San Lorenzo met over two legs in the third round of this year’s Copa Libertadores and it was the Brazilians who progressed to the next round at the end of proceedings. Santos took initiative of the tie with the 3-1 away win in the first leg.

DI SANTO: BARREN RUN CONTINUES

Argentine striker Franco Di Santo is still waiting for his first goal in a San Lorenzo shirt following his free transfer move for Brazilian Serie A outfit Atletico Mineiro last year. Franco Di Santo didn’t have the best of starts at San Lorenzo in his native Argentina due to injury.

He has to recuperate from injury for a few months before he finally made his debut in November 2020. Franco Di Santo made his debut for San Lorenzo against Argentinos Juniors. He came on as a substitute at the start of the second half for Mariano Peralta as San Lorenzo beat their opponents 2-0 at home.
