LAMPARD KEEN ON KANTE

Frank Lampard is keen on retaining the services of NGolo Kante ahead of next season. There have been reports that the World Cup winner could be sold in the summer to finance arrivals. The reports emerged last week that the former Leicester City midfielder could be sold. Since the reports emerged, several clubs have made their intention known.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus are among the clubs to have registered an interest in the player. Former Blues striker Franco Di Santo believes it will be counter productive should his former sides choose to sell the experienced Kante. He stated that Kante is among the best in his position and the club will struggle to get the same quality in the transfer market.

The Blues have already sanctioned huge transfers for Leipzig forward Timo Werner and Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech. There are also reports that the club could also make a big move for Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell. While there are also reports that they are close in a deal with Bayern Leverkusen for the services of Kai Havertz.

Kante is regarded as one of the best centre midfielders in the game and has excelled since making the switch from Leicester a few seasons ago. However, he has endured an injury-hit season and the arrival of new signings could mean that the club could be overloaded in midfield.

Despite this, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is in agreement that the club would be in a better position to compete for the League if the midfielder is retained. French Champions PSG have been monitoring his progress and are keen on bringing the midfielder back home.

Kante has enjoyed a successful time at the club winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League during this period.
