Weder Bremen Remains Optimistic

Wednesday, September 10th, 2014

With the new Bundesliga having initiated in full force, managers and players want to propel their respective clubs to success and glory and Werder Bremen is an interesting case as they managed to win the German League and the Cup 10 years ago but ever since accomplishing that major feat, things have started to fall apart.

Winning 2 major trophies in a single season exemplifies just how well a club is performing but it seems like Werder Bremen’s glory days are in the past and will not be arriving anytime soon as there still has not been a standout player within the current squad that can push Werder Bremen to the top of the league and make compete against the likes of: Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund.

Even the current manager of Werder Bremen, Robin Dutt he has admitted that seeing his club even being able to qualify, enter and compete in Europe would come as a surprise for himself and his players as they still aren’t ready for it.

“Werder Bremen are being made out to be too small. I do believe that, with the opportunities we’ve got here, we have got what it takes to challenge. It would be a big surprise.

After being asked if Werder Bremen has what it to takes to compete in the Europa League or Champions League, Dutt replied by saying:

‘’For that to happen, really so much would have to come together. We could do without any injury misfortune and the players would have to develop in the best possible way, and one or two of our rivals would have had to fail with their transfers.”

Robin Dutt still remains fairly optimistic about his chances in capturing a spot in the middle section in the German League but Europe remains out of their reach.

Werder Bremen Happy With Pre Season

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014

Werder Bremen has wrapped up their pre-season schedule of their tour in China as the Germans picked up friendly triumphs against Chinese Super League champions Changchun Yatai as well as defeating Tianjin TEDA.

The players and staff members of the German club were relieved and satisfied about all of the positive results they secured during their trip to China as the Sporting Director, Thomas Eichin and the head coach Robin Dutt expressed to the public when the journey was over.

Robin Dutt said: “The team’s excellent attitude has come to the fore again in China. We worked so hard that I was waiting every day for the lads to run out of steam, but they never did. It was like having ten Ronaldos’’

Sporting Director Thomas Eichin added on: “It’s been an exciting trip from all sorts of angles. Very few of us had been to China before. There were new experiences every day, we got to know the country and its people and it’s left a real impression on us. The conditions were extreme at times but we put in some decent work all the same. The pitches were in a good condition and we beat very handy opponents in our two friendlies. So from a sporting perspective as well, it’s been a fruitful trip.”

The pre-season of Werder Bremen still sees the German outfit having to play against: Leicester City FC, Chelsea FC, and Athletic Club. All of those matches will serve as preparation before the next campaign initiates in August as Werder Bremen wants to get prepared and secure a higher spot in the German League compared to the previous season when they managed on securing the 12th spot.
